Obituary for Linda Nott (Moosey)

Linda Moosey Nott, age 67, passed away surrounded by the warmth and love of her family on Monday October 24, 2022. Linda was born on August 29, 1955 in Westerly, RI to her mother Barbara Moosey (Berlam) and father Walter Moosey. Linda was a 1973 graduate of Stonington High School and grew up in a loving household of 5 children, where she quickly established herself as the gentle peacekeeper and unofficial matriarch of her siblings. Throughout her life, Linda was the glue that kept her siblings together for holidays and celebrations.

She married the love of her life, Kenneth Nott on July 29, 1989 and together they helped to raise three children. She worked in the dental industry for nearly 50 years, and loved helping to make people’s smiles the most beautiful they could be. Linda was a truly blessed musician, singing in church choirs for over four decades. There was not a moment when music was not part of her life. From waking her children up each morning with thunderous songs as a quasi-alarm clock, to singing lullabies to her grandchildren, her voice was a gift she shared with not only her family, but also the world. Linda loved crafting, tag sales, and most notably…Christmas, each year putting up over 20 themed Christmas trees in her home. Her greatest treasure was the time she spent with her three grandchildren.

Her joy and positivity is the legacy she leaves for her family. Linda is survived by her husband Kenneth, daughter Allison Reklaitis and her husband Brian from Brookfield, CT; daughter Noel Shamber and her husband Joseph from Vernon, CT; son Joshua Nott from North Attleboro, MA; grandchildren Donovan and Kennedy Reklaitis and Kellan Shamber; as well as sisters Barbara Hayes, Janet Sicard, Sharon Parker, brother Thomas Moosey, and dozens of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service in honor of her life will be held at Burke-Fortin Funeral Home located at 76 Prospect Street, Vernon, CT on Friday, October 28 at 3pm. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 1-3 p.m. prior to the service.
