Obituary for Gracemary Tanner (Tricarico)

Gracemary Tanner passed away on October 26, 2022. Born in Hartford to parents Andrew P Tricarico and Sandina (Pizzitola) Tricarico. She grew up in Hartford and West Hartford, Connecticut and graduated high school from Hartford Public High School in 1953. After high school she attended Uconn (Storrs) and graduated in 1957 with her Bachelors degree in Sociology. Grace worked for SNET for 29 years. She started as a Service Rep and worked her way up to becoming a Business Office manager in Manchester and Hartford, Connecticut. Ending her career as a Community Relations Manager in New Britain and Hartford. She also was the first woman president in Hartford Connecticut Rotary - Sunrise Chapter. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Nolan of Ellington and her four children: Sean Nolan of New York, Erin Nolan and her two children Evelyn and Desmond of Manchester, Kyle Nolan of New York, and Mary Goepfert and her husband Daniel of Ellington and their three children Iris, Andrew and Maverick. Her former husband Bill Tanner and his three children: Robert Tanner and his wife Linda and their three children: Sarah Tanner and her husband Sam Coba of Boston, Matthew Tanner and his fiancé Erika Kunkel of Andover, and Lauren of Plainville. Larry Tanner and finance Samantha Hsu of Texas and former wife Rosanne and their son Joel of San Diego, CA. Kelly Corallo and her husband Victor of Florida and their daughter Kara and Caleb Dean. She also leaves behind many dear friends. Grace was a wonderful cook and loved to host holidays and parties for her loved ones. She knew how to create the kind of memories that you would want to hold on to forever. She loved to read, volunteer at Soup Kitchen, exercise with her Strong Women’s group, the beach, go out to eat with her family, traveling especially to NYC and San Diego, CA and staying at her favorite place The Del Coronado in Coronado, CA. She was intelligent, loving, caring, generous, supportive, and kind. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Grace was known as “Grammy” to not only her grandchildren, but their friends. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the loves of her life and there was nothing she loved more than to be called Grammy. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m., Sat. Nov 12, 2002, at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect Street, Rockville.
