Obituary for Frances M. Stoeffler

Frances M. Stoeffler, 84, of Tolland, beloved wife of Richard Stoeffler, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 20, 1938 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late Frank and Rafalena (Caruso) Lombardo. She was predeceased by her parents and sister Jaci Lombardo.

Besides Richard, her husband of 60 years, she is survived by her brother Frank Lombardo Jr. of Boca Raton, FL, her children Sherri Stoeffler of Tolland, CT and Brett Stoeffler and his wife Dawn of Tolland, CT, her grandchildren Connor and his wife Cassie of Groton, CT, Dakota and her husband Craig of Richmond, VA, Luke and Dillon, and great grandchildren Lucy, Maizie and Owen.

Fran, also lovingly known as Gram, had many passions. First and foremost she wholeheartedly loved her family. She was always hosting gatherings whether it be for a birthday, holiday or just becauseā€¦ always with party lights! She was a devoted fan who spent hours upon hours on the sidelines of countless sporting events- both for her children and grandchildren. She was an incredible cheerleader, always offering praise and encouraging words.

She was a selfless woman who truly lived to serve others. She worked as an aide at Rockville Memorial Nursing Home from 1980 to 1989 and then served as a paraprofessional for the Tolland Public School System from 1989 to 1999.

Fran was also extremely creative. She loved quilting, scrapbooking, and cooking for her family. She was a proud member of her local quilting guild and formed a gourmet group with some of her local friends- mostly as a means to gather and spend time together enjoying their company, as well as different foods.

Fran was without a doubt the life of the party. Hand her a glass of Prosecco, a little lipstick and she would come alive! Put those things together with friends or family and add a cruise ship and she was in her element. She loved her island adventures! She was always up for anything and even took dance classes and participated in recitals while in her 70s!

She was one of a kind and will forever be missed.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family Saturday, November 26 from 9 to 11 AM with a memorial service following at 11 AM at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Rd., (Rte. 195) Tolland, CT.
