Thomas A. “Papa T” Strycharz, 78, longtime resident of Coventry passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday December 5, 2022. Born October 1, 1944 in Hartford, he was the son of the late Joseph and Eva (Przybysz) Strycharz. He grew up in Wethersfield and graduated from Wethersfield High School. After High School he worked for Pratt & Whitney then later Southern New England telephone where he retired as Field Engineer. During his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family, vacations to Disney and Assateague Island. His kind heart, selfless acts of kindness and willingness to help anyone made him loved by all that knew him.

He is survived by his brothers, Joseph Strycharz of FL, Michael Strycharz and his wife Gail of Coventry, his four children; son Thomas Strycharz, Jr. his and wife Jodi of Lyme, son Stephen Strycharz his wife Lisa of Coventry, daughter Tammy Voros her husband Steven of Coventry, and son Paul Strycharz and his wife Michelle of Coventry. He leaves behind his ten beloved grandchildren; Jacob Strycharz, Christopher Strycharz, Brittany (Strycharz) Barry, Jessica Voros, Julia Strycharz, Leah Strycharz, Steven Voros, Justin Voros, Stanley Strycharz and Eva Strycharz, great grandson Luke Barry. Niece Kimberly (Strycharz) Welles, her husband Dennis and son Tristan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thurs, Dec. 15, 2022 at St. Mary’s Church, 1600 Main Street in Coventry.
