Obituary for Christine "Tina" Coughlin (Allen)

Christine “Tina” Mary Coughlin (Allen), age 68, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2023 at Hartford Hospital with her loving children by her side. After a long battle with a chronic disease, she is at peace, pain free and walking again with the angels. Born in Hartford on July 11, 1954, she was the daughter of Raymond E. Allen Sr. and Mary L. Salustro. She grew up in Windsor and was a longtime resident of Broad Brook where she raised her family. While living in Broad Brook she enjoyed many years as a daycare provider, teaching CCD through St. Catherine’s Church, waitressing at local restaurants and working the concession stand at Osborn field during sporting events. She enjoyed getting together with family and spending vacations in Maine. She dedicated most of her work at Budget Rent a car. She loved what she did, and customers associated her as the funny girl with the black hair or the “Budget Babe”. She loved her elephants and had a collection of magnets from US states from her daughter while traveling. She loved Foxwoods Casino and the high stakes bingo. She enjoyed going to local bingo halls in Enfield, Windsor Locks and Suffield. Her greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Stefanie Coughlin of South Windsor and her son Thomas Coughlin Jr. of Granby; her grandchildren Brianna, Gabriella and Addison Coughlin, William III and Ciera Green and Hannah and Landon Maura; her sisters Sarah (Robert) Woods, Melissa Tracy, and Annie Allen all of Enfield; her brothers Wayne Allen of Windsor Locks and Santo Allen of FL. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Raymond E. Allen Jr, her uncles Angelo and John Salustro. She has many nieces, nephews and cousins that she will miss dearly. Tina’s family would like to thank all the staff on Bliss 7i at Hartford Hospital and Hartford Healthcare at Home Inpatient Hospice team for the kind and compassionate care through this difficult time. In her final hours of life, Trystan, RN on CB2 at Hartford Hospital was very caring and compassionate at making sure she remained as comfortable as possible and pain free. All are invited to attend a Celebration of Tina’s life at Bassinger and Dowd in East Windsor, 37 Gardner St. on February 10, 2023 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
