Obituary for Barbara Ann Stein
Barbara Ann Stein, 85, of Ellington, beloved wife of Matt Stein passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023.
She was born May 22, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of the late Michael and Frances Komar.
Barbara graduated from South Hills High School in Pittsburgh, PA. She was a paralegal for an Attorney's office and very proud of the fact she was clocked at typing 130 WPM. Barbara moved to Connecticut in 1972 with her Husband Matt and 5 children. During those years she started her own Typing Hut business at home and when the kids were old enough she went back to work full time at IMS then at Copytex. She finished her working years at St. Joseph Church as the Church Secretary (she was there for 16 years). Making new friends and memories until she retired.
Her passion was reading!! Mysteries and Suspense books. She loved making Golumpki's (stuffed cabbage) and her famous potato salad for whenever her family got together. She loved Sunday's especially during football season - her love for the Pittsburgh Steelers was there watching every game every season!!
Besides her loving husband, Matt she is survived by her children, Matt, Paul (Linda), Debra and Robert.
Grandchildren Katherine, Joseph (Sara), Jessica and Kevin. Great Grandmother to Elliott Joseph. She was predeceased by Son Mark and Daughter in Law, Sue.
Family and friends are welcome to join the family on Thursday, Feb 2nd at St. Joseph Church, 33 West Street, Rockville. from 11 am to 12 noon for a viewing in vestibule of the Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial following at 12 noon. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Church.
