Brenda Louise Neron (nee Morell), 78, of Ellington, CT, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2023. She was born on May 14, 1945. She was the daughter of the late Allen F. Morell and Edith B. McCray Morell. She was predeceased by her husband Paul L. Neron and her son Robert A. Buttimer.
Brenda is survived by her only daughter Ella-Janine Russo and her husband Paul Russo; her sons Gerald F. Buttimer, Jr., Shaun A. Neron, Shannon A Neron; her four stepsons Ricky, Randy, Ronnie and Robbie Neron; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and her best friend Collen Gilbert who was like a sister to her.
Brenda was a singer, artist, cook and a paramedic working on an ambulance in Hartford among many other things. She drove school bus for over 20 years and many years before retiring, she was a cross-country truck driver. She loved children, animals, playing bingo, taking care of people and making them happy. Even in Kimberly Hall nursing home where she has been for the last few years, she loved drawing and coloring her pictures. She always enjoyed handing them out to her fellow residents as well as the staff, delighted with the smiles they brought.
A memorial service will be held in Brenda's honor on October 5, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Ellington Congregational Church. Prior to the service, calling hours will take place on October 4, 2023 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Burke-Fortin funeral home located in Rockville, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Brenda Louise Neron will be dearly missed by her loved ones and friends. May her soul rest in peace.
