Adria Bridget Voigt passed away peacefully with her parents by her side on Tuesday, August 9th, at the ICU at Connecticut Children's Medical Center. She was 2 days shy of 11 months old. Adria was born on September 11, 2010 at Hartford Hospital. She was transferred to Children's Hospital Boston in Boston, MA at 12 hours old and spent her first 8 1/2 months of life there before being transferred to CT Children's Medical Center in May. Adria's strong spirit, fiery personality, and beautiful red hair touched everyone she met, as well as some that she never got to meet. She was instantly loved by the many doctors and nurses who helped to care for her. She leaves behind her parents Starr Lynn (White) Voigt, originally of Canterbury, CT; and Erik W. Voigt, originally of Old Saybrook, CT. They reside in Ellington, CT. She is also survived by maternal grandparents, Dawn Davis and Kevin and Glenda White; maternal great grandparents, Allen and Shirley Davis all of Canterbury; paternal grandparents, William and Carol Voigt and Susan Voigt all of Old Saybrook; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, as well as all the nurses and doctors who spent so many of their working hours with Adria, and all the people who followed her story. She will be missed and remembered forever. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 4-6 pm on Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St. Vernon-Rockville, CT 06066.A Funeral Home Service will follow at 6 pm. Services are public and anyone who has followed Adria's story is more than welcome to attend.
