Virginia A. Polyott, 88, of East Windsor, went home to be with her beloved husband Philip Polyott and her loving Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 22, 2016. She was born November 28, 1927 in Hartford, daughter of the late Chester and Helen (Lange) Phelps. She previously worked for G. Fox, Sears and the East Windsor Drive-in. Virginia enjoyed bowling, bocce, bike riding, and playing basketball. She was a sweet, loving, and kind person who always smiled; she was a gentle giant. Virginia was a lifelong member of the Congregational Church of Windsor Locks; she belonged to the Golden Saints, and was a lifelong member of TOPS. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Marty Alberti of Somers, Lori and Fred Sanchez of Broad Brook and Brenda and Renny Hanson of Southington; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Codi, Kaylee, Samantha, Charlie, Brittany and Christian; her great grandchildren Adam and Zachariah; her sister-in-law Gloria Benson of East Hartford and many loving nieces and nephews. Virginia was predeceased by her siblings Richard and Shirley Phelps. Relatives and friends may join the family on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at the Congregational Church of Windsor Locks, 8 Main St., Windsor Locks from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Congregational Church of Windsor Locks.
