Robert T. Veitch, 88, of Willimantic and formerly of Coventry entered into Eternal Rest on Thursday, October 23, 2008, at Windham Hospital. Robert was born on April 28, 1920, in Manchester the son of the late Robert and Julia (Gardner) Veitch. Robert served in the United States Army during World War II and retired from the Town of Coventry where he worked for many years. He was a lifelong member of the North Coventry Fire Department, a member of the VFW Post 254 of Hartford, and communicant of St. Mary Church Coventry. Robert is survived by his sister, Lillian Spencer of Willimantic, a niece; Julia Saegaert and her husband Norbert of Ashford; nephews David Spencer and his wife Linda of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Robert Veitch and his wife, Gloria of Old Saybrook, and James Veitch and his wife, Linda of North Carolina; he is also survived by several great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
