Don, Carol, and Carolyn were close neighbors on Wilson Lane in Vernon for over 20 years. We recall fondly many holidays and neighborhood gatherings shared with them. We also remember Don walking past our house each afternoon, on his way home from Travelers in Hartford, after being dropped off at the corner of our street. His cheerful smile and greeting added a positive note to the end of each day.

We have moved on from Vernon, and Don has spent the past years with Carolyn and her family on Long Island. But we have kept in touch, and we have delighted in hearing about Don’s time with his family, and news about his cruises and other activities. He enjoyed life in retirement.

Don was truly a good and kind person. We have been privileged to know him and his family. We will miss his uplifting messages these recent years, but we take solace in knowing that he and Carol are together again.

Carolyn, you have our sincere sympathy. You were very fortunate to have had two such devoted and loving parents. The Fay’s were among the nicest, most genuine people we have ever known.

Carolyn and family, I so sorry to hear of Don's passing. He and your mom were old friends of mine from Travelers. I saw your dad at our retirees annual holiday party in December, and was very happy to get to talk to him there. I knew your mom first, and she introduced me to your dad. Don and I exchanged Christmas cards for many years, and I will cherish the friendship I had with both of them. He was so proud of you and your family. My condolences, Barbara Andriks
